Pogacar soloed to a dominant victory after Remco had an early crash and dropped before the race really kicked off. Roglic did not bring his best legs. He took third behind an impressive sprint of Andrea Bagioli in second.
I will be pitching something to be included as a guest essayist in The Road Book, which is an annual collection of stories collectively summarizing each season of professional cycling. My current idea is: “Pogacar at a Crossroads: Classics Specialist or Grand Tour Champion?” I would explain his desperation to reclaim the Tour de France despite his four Monument victories since his most recent triumph at Le Grand Boucle.
But I am still debating if that well-discussed topic really needs a huge essay in the Road Book. So I am exploring alternative pitches.
I’m also debating what content I will work on for this blog for the next three months, as the cycling off-season is unfortunately upon us.
See ya next time.
